Fresh coriander is a great addition to vegetable and pulses dishes. The chopped leaves and stem of coriander can be garnished upon the ready-to-serve dishes to improve presentation as well as taste. These leaves and soft stem are added to curries, snacks, soups, stews and rice dishes. Known as dhaniya in Hindi, fresh coriander must be used within a week. Obtained from coriander plant, coriander leaves has a strong fragrance and aroma. The nutrients present in the leaves are vitamin K, dietary fiber, manganese, iron, magnesium, calcium, copper, phosphorus, zinc, potassium, selenium and antioxidants. The use of coriander is beneficial as it can help reduce inflammation, lower blood sugar level and fight infections.
